Náplň programu/oboru:
The aim of the Development and Globalization study program is to offer students complex orientation and understanding of the issues of globalization and development from the perspective of political science, history, and sociology. Such an interdisciplinary approach then allows an adequate choice of theoretical grounds and methodological tools to find solutions for topics related to development and globalization. These may include the issues of transnationalism, distribution of power, migration, integration, population policies, environment, public health, education, urbanization, employment, prosperity, concrete development projects of multinational as well as local actors, etc. Thanks to acquired knowledge and skills framed by adequate theoretical and methodological approaches, students will be able to understand multilayered social processes having a direct impact on supranational, national, and local policies and politics in the regions of Europe’s close neighborhood (Africa, the Middle East, post-Soviet region).
