Graduates of the PhD Programme are specialists in English and English linguistics. In addition to having a comprehensive knowledge of the field, they are theoretically and practically well prepared for doing independent and team research work and publishing activities. They are trained to update their erudition continuously, to keep up with advances in the field and to specialize as required. This enables them to design and teach their own courses. The emphasis on bilingual work with linguistic literature and terminology predisposes them for teaching abroad. Participation in conferences and research projects gives them good grounding for submitting their own grant projects and for taking part in joint projects with foreign partner centres.
