Náplň programu/oboru:
An international Doctoral degree programme designed in line with contemporary requirements on creative and educational activities in a university environment. The double-degree structure of this programme provides a close link to thematically related universities in various countries of the world, leading to an international team of not only guarantors and advisors, but especially of potential scientists – successful graduates – who will be in high demand in the modern environment of European as well as global research. The strategic goal is to stimulate efficient research and ensure its continuations via the upcoming generations of students on both collaborating faculties. An efficient research environment is not possible without modern equipment in laboratories and multi-faceted international activities of not only the guarantors of the individual courses, but also the doctoral students themselves. Another aim will be to support international collaboration for the exchange of professional experience and for finding inspiration for new hypotheses of scientific investigation. Broader international research teams are better fit to generate innovative perspectives on scientific solutions for researched questions. During their mandatory internship at the university in Krakow (at least 30 days) and at other scientific institutions, the doctoral students will familiarize themselves with various forms of educational and scientific activities; educational activities will include the contributions of foreign experts from various areas of agricultural research and diverse organizations. The connection of the findings obtained via the aforementioned activities will allow international doctoral studies to serve as an essential and comprehensive tool of the faculty for the generation of high-quality scientific and educational foundation which will be capable of producing the required scientific outputs – outputs which will be fully acceptable and in line with the contemporary global environment. The courses taught within the international doctoral programme reflect the modern scientific focus of the programme in the area of researching horticultural plants. A broad scientific perspective on horticultural production is provided primarily by three basic and closely related areas, which together form a comprehensive set of scientific and study disciplines. These are notably the area of stress factors caused by abiotic and biotic agents, the area of modern growing and production technologies and the area of genetics and quality of plant or technological products; the programme ensures that students learn about all of these areas during their studies.
