Náplň programu/oboru:
The M.A. program provides university courses in three main areas (a) English linguistics (grammar and other fields including diachrony), (b) British and American literature and literature theory and (c) British and American cultural studies at the academic level corresponding to the M.A. program. All parts of the program contain a number of specialized courses which the students can choose from. Although there is a great deal of space for individual specialization, all areas of the field of study have to be covered to some minimal extent. Apart from the above-mentioned fields, students can attend optional courses in English for special purposes, translation/interpreting courses (requiring a working knowledge of Czech), etc. This program can be studied as either a single or double major/minor. The double program can be combined with all other double programmes at PU. The distinction between the single and double major programs is in the number of credits (i.e. courses) required for graduation.
